Planting and watering God's Word wherever we go
We are a fairly new Southern Baptist church in Abilene, Texas — small enough that you will be noticed, and glad enough that you will be welcomed.
Our story
Harmony Baptist Church began the way most good things in the church do: a handful of believers convinced that God’s Word is worth gathering around, and unwilling to wait for perfect conditions to do it.
We take our name and our aim from the same idea — being in one accord with God. Not merely agreeable with one another, but genuinely of one mind and one heart under His Word.
Practically, that means we are growing into Bible Study classes for all age groups, held at 5:00 PM each Sunday, followed by a worship service at 6:00 PM where prayer is a major focus and glorifying God is the priority. We are still growing. That is part of the invitation.
What to expect on a Sunday
Come as you are. Some of us wear a jacket and some of us wear boots. Bring a Bible if you have one; borrow one of ours if you don’t. Bible Study runs about an hour, with classes sorted by age. Worship follows: singing, prayer, and preaching straight from the text.
Nobody will single you out or ask you to stand. Somebody will almost certainly shake your hand and learn your name.
