The Scriptures
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, wholly trustworthy, and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We preach it rather than around it.
What we believe
Convictions, stated plainly
We are a Southern Baptist church. Here is what we hold to, without hedging and without jargon.

God
There is one true and living God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, one nature, worthy of all worship.

Jesus Christ
Fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, sinless in life, crucified for sinners, bodily raised, ascended, and returning again.

Salvation
Salvation is by God's grace, received through faith in Christ alone. It is a gift, not a wage — and it cannot be earned, only accepted.

Baptism & the Lord's Supper
Two ordinances given to the church. Baptism by immersion pictures the believer's union with Christ; the Lord's Supper is a remembrance of His body and blood until He comes.

The Church
A local body of baptized believers, joined in covenant, gathered for worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, and the spread of the gospel.

Prayer
Prayer is not preliminary to the church's work; it is much of the work. We give it real time and real place in our gatherings.

The Great Commission
We are sent to plant and water God's Word wherever we go, making disciples in Abilene and beyond.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
